Our second ultrasound is coming up for baby flipper. The baby was really active already in the first ultrasound at the beginning of September, but the second one is going to be pretty big. From what we have been tracking, the baby will be about the size of an apple, or around 4 inches from head to bum; weighing in around 2 to 2.5 ounces.
For my wife and I, if you read the introduction post, this is our first child. It is exciting and scary at the same time; not always knowing what this feeling or that feeling means. The roller coast of emotions on top of that just makes this kind of stressful. But we live for the moments that make us smile. And being the superman I am, I didn't cry the first ultrasound even though I probably would have if Elizabeth didn't lose it after the technician left. Needless to say, we are excited.
This ultrasound will show us the progress the baby is making and give a glimpse, though not a verified answer on the gender of the child. We won't find out till December on the gender due to my work schedule.
One struggle we've had though is talking to the baby, but not wanting to say it is a boy or a girl because we just don't know yet. It is makes it harder even because we are hoping for a girl, and Adrianna Grace will be her name; which makes it hard because we want to call the baby Addi, but won't know for sure if we can call the baby Addi or not.
So the path to parenthood has it's ups and downs. The not sleeping thing is kind of a bummer but hopefully by the time we move to Tennessee we will have a better mattress. Who knows though.
Anywhoodles, Thanks for reading. I'd love to hear and comments or suggestions you have for getting through some of the symptoms of the first 20 weeks, or first half of pregnancy. Leave them in the comments or feel free to submit them through the contact form on the site.
