Seen as I realized that I haven't posted in a long while, I thought I would give you an update on what is going on with me, The Undercover Dad.
We are having a boy: Oliver Alexander
On December 11th, we were finally able to get into an appointment to determine the gender of our expecting child, as well as make sure the baby was healthy and growing stronger.
To our relief, baby K was healthy as can be. Weighing in just under 2 pounds and measuring in at almost 12 inches in length. We found out that our baby was a boy. We had decided around the start of the pregnancy that if we were having a boy, we would name him Oliver Alexander. Oliver was the name that Elizabeth really loved and couldn't imagine calling him any other name. Alexander is an old family name on my father's side. My great grandfather was named Harry Alexander, so that is where the Alexander name comes from.
We are happy to know the gender of our child as well as having the reassurance that our child is healthy and growing stronger each day.
I got a new job
Around the end of November, I left my job with PureLine to pursue a job closer to home. I applied to jobs for over a month waiting for something to come through. I ended up trying to snag a job with a company called Nutra, from which after 10 minutes of accepting a job with them, I was offered a better job with GE Power, working a better shift with better pay.
The new job makes thing a little bit more tight financially, but the good thing is I am home on the weekends and will be able to spend more time with Elizabeth and Oliver when he is born.
I know that the future is not guaranteed to us, nor are we promised a single day after the one we experience today, but the future is beginning to look brighter. Elizabeth and I have started to make plans to begin taking care of debt and starting to save for a home or whatever we need for a stable life with our son coming in March/April.
It will be a long round, filled with issues and challenges, but I have a feeling that everything is going to work out good in the end.
Hopefully I can post more too. Maybe with some things we are doing to give everyone help and encouragement in the hard times.
